the adorable “P” family…

I absolutely loved everything about this session with this sweet family. Not only is dad also named Casey (best name ever), but Ashli is absolutely gorgeous AND they have the happiest baby boy- little Carter man. This was their first time having family photos taken, and I was so honored that they asked me. Ashli chose the Desert Botanical Garden as our location (a brand new spot for me) because her grandfather helped construct much of the park. What an amazing place!! So much color and vibrance, coupled with gorgeous light and purpley desert, made for one of my favorite family sessions ever. I am so thrilled for this happy fam…and I vote they make more babies. Anyone second that?? Ha! Here is a taste of the cuteness I got to photograph…

I’m SO glad I met you Casey, Ashli and Carter. Thanks for such a fun night! (and I wasn’t kidding about more cute babies…)

Ashley and Aaron are engaged!!!

Ashley and Aaron are one of those couples who are so comfortable and happy together that they make everyone around them comfortable and happy too. They are both heavily involved in theater and the arts (Aaron actually works in the field) and they really wanted their engagement session to capture their shared passion. When they suggested Heritage Square and the arts district in downtown Phoenix as a location, I was immediately excited. It’s such a unique and funky area of town, with so much color and life, and it was the perfect place to photograph them. I loved spending the morning with them- hanging out, checking out Phoenix, and of course smooching for the camera! (Well, they were the ones doing the smooching, not me. Ha!) The cuteness between the two of them made for photos that were so fun to capture. I can.not.wait. for their wedding day in October…

Congrats Aaron and Ashley…4 months and counting!!:)

Devon and Jesse: engaged!!

I just loved spending the evening with these two. We braved the AZ summer heat and headed out to the Superstition Mountain desert for their engagement session. We hiked around the mountain like professionals in our flip-flops, avoided a few “snakes,” shared one measely water bottle, and laughed a lot.

I love having the chance to spend some time with couples before their big day, and with Devon and Jesse it was just so easy. It’s obvious how much they love each other, but their friendship was the most fun to watch. Not every couple is so lucky to marry their best friend, and Devon and Jesse are some of the luckiest. I’m so so SO happy for them…

Congrats Devon and Jesse…can’t wait for the big day!!

Garrett: Class of 2014

I’ve known Garrett’s family since he was in elementary school and they are some of my favorite people on the planet! His older sister Leanne has been one of my best friends since college which means I’ve gotten to watch Garrett grow up here and there. He is such a cool guy, and I was so excited when I was asked to take his senior photos…once I got over the shock that he was already graduating from high school! (am I really that old?? Ha!)

Garrett wanted to take his photos at his parent’s home on South Mountain…an architectural masterpiece. I loved the personal touch of being in Garrett’s house, and there was so much inspiration there! An incredible house, the beautiful desert, and a handsome subject made this one of my favorite senior guy sessions to date…

Congratulations Garrett!! So happy for you and all you’ve accomplished. I can’t wait to see where you’re headed next!

karissa and spencer: engaged

This may have been one of my favorite desert sessions yet…the soft sunlight, the gorgeous colors, the purple mountains…but mostly this adorable couple. Karissa and Spencer are so perfect together, I could take photos of them all day long! I’m sooo excited to celebrate the start of their new life together in October. Here are a few of my favorites from their session…

Congratulations you two!! I can’t wait for October!!!
